Norwegian Sauna Culture Event

THE SPEAKERS

Fresh from The British Sauna Society Sauna Summit, in London, we will be joined by Stig Arild Pettersen Secretary General of The Norwegian Sauna Association and Alf Magnus Stålesen, from Periode Sauna Booking System.

This is Scottish Seaside Sauna’s first major social event, outside any of our saunas, or away from our overseas trips and we are very much looking forward.

Opportunities to learn about another country’s sauna, or badstu, culture do not come much better than this.

Stig Arild Pettersen – Secretary General of the Norwegian Sauna Association.

Stig has been a sauna enthusiast all his life and lives on a small farm in Isfjorden in Møre og Romsdal. His role is to manage the day-to-day operations of Norge Badstulaug and to promote Norwegian Sauna Culture, internationally.

Stig will be talking about Norwegian Sauna Culture, his vision for it and how it has been developing, since he took on his role in 2023.

Alf Magnus Stålesen – Periode

Periode is a sauna booking and subscription solution, with integrated membership system. Used by Oslo Badstuforening, Oslofjord’s floating sauna network.

Alf will be talking about Oslo Badstuforening’s beginnings, as a collaboration between a group of anarchists and diplomats.

Imogen Murray and Judith Dunlop

Imogen Murray of Nadair Adventures and Judith Dunlop, Founder and Owner of Scottish Seaside Saunas, will be talking about why they established a joint venture, taking guests to other sweatbathing countries, like Norway, to experience sauna, or badstu, in other cultures and their up-and-coming trips to Norway and Finland.
